Vintage Replica Bats
Cooperstown Bat Vintage Replica Bats have been created from bats measured in the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
From it’s pre-Civil War origins through the Turn-of-the-century experiments, to the modern profile, the evolution of baseball itself can be traced with these bats. The early ball players made their own baseball bats from any handy wood including old tools, wagon tongues, and tree branches. These were very different from the skillfully hand-turned baseball bats of the late 19th century and a far cry from the baseball bats swung by modern baseball players.
Turn of the Century baseball bats brought attempts to improve the physics of hitting. The ball-balance and mushroom handled baseball bats provided a counterweight to the heavy, stiff barrel delivery better control of the bat. Perfect for the unique gift or for re-enactments!
